Khon Kaen University and Cleveland Clinic Join Forces to Host International Pathology Course, Advancing Global Medical Expertise
Khon Kaen, Thailand – The Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (KKU) and Cleveland Clinic have partnered to host the renowned “International Pathology Course: Cleveland x Pathology MD KKU,” taking place from November 5-9, 2024, at the Kosa Hotel in Khon Kaen. This high-profile event gathers leading medical professionals, pathologists, and educators from around the world to exchange the latest knowledge and breakthroughs in the field of pathology.
The opening ceremony welcomed distinguished guests, including faculty from Khon Kaen University, Cleveland Clinic staff, and Prof. Somboon Keelawat, President of the Royal College of Pathologists of Thailand. In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, emphasized the event’s goals to enhance diagnostic expertise, promote international knowledge sharing, and support continuous professional development.
This intensive program offers participants interactive lectures, case study discussions, and hands-on training led by globally recognized experts in pathology. Additionally, attendees have the chance to network and share insights with their peers, fostering cross-border collaborations that will benefit medical communities worldwide. Participants will also earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits, reinforcing their commitment to lifelong learning in pathology.
The course represents a pivotal step in advancing global collaboration in pathology. Both KKU and Cleveland Clinic are committed to elevating standards in diagnostics and patient care. The Royal College of Pathologists of Thailand has generously supported this mission by providing 11 scholarships for residents and pathologists—five from Thailand and six from Lao PDR—enabling broader access to this specialized training.
