Dr. Apiwat Sirichoat earned his Ph.D. in Anatomy from Khon Kaen University, Thailand, in 2016. He is currently a lecturer at the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and was promoted to the position of Assistant Professor in 2020.

Research Interests:

1. Neurogenesis in the Adult and Developing Brain:

    – Focus on the continuous generation of new neurons throughout adulthood, primarily in the subgranular zone (SGZ) of the dentate gyrus in the hippocampus.

2. Application of Bioactive Compounds from Thai Plants in Biomedical Research:

    – Investigating the antioxidant effects of Thai plants on neural stem cells in the hippocampal dentate gyrus, with a focus on their potential roles in memory enhancement, anti-aging, and anti-cancer properties.
